Hazel M. Tavares

Hazel M. (Pacheco) Tavares of Plymouth, died peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday morning April 18,in her home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Manuel A. Tavares. She was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, on January 1, 1938, daughter of the late Virginio and Mary (Guerrouche) Pacheco. She was educated in the Azores and came to the US at the age of 14. She worked for Party Lite in Plymouth for over 27 years and was a longtime resident of the Kingston/Plymouth area. Hazel was a member of the Plymouth Council on Aging.

She is survived by her son Gregory Tavares of Plymouth; her daughter Debra Bradshaw and her husband Kevin of Carver; and her sisters Emily Costa and Ida Morey both of Plymouth. She was also the sister of the late Nicholas Pacheco. She is the grandmother of Nathaniel Bradshaw, Brandi Tavares and Brittney Tavares and the late Joshua and Caleb Bradshaw. She is the great grandmother Kierra Tavares and Even Fitzgibbons.

Visiting hours will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 373 Court Street, North Plymouth, on Monday April 22, from 4 to 7 pm. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday April 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church 313 Court St., North Plymouth. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston.
