Charles Richard Maccaferri, 81, of Plymouth, passed away after a short illness on Aug. 15. Born on June 1, 1943, in Plymouth, son of Charles Maccaferri and Elise (Rossi) Maccaferri, Charles was a graduate of Plymouth High School and furthered his education at the College of the Holy Cross. Charles served on the board of directors at High Point for many years. He was an avid Boston sports fan, holding Celtics season tickets for over 40 years. Most notably, Charles was a Realtor in Plymouth for over 40 years.
Charlie, as he was affectionately known, was a kind and wise heart. He was often described as a man whose impact was both profound and far-reaching, and whose character and wisdom touched many people. His love for his family and friends was immeasurable and sustained him throughout his life. A friend of Bill for 48 years, Charlie lived a life embodying the serenity to accept the things he could not change, the courage to change the things he could, and the wisdom to know the difference.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Donna (Leaman) Maccaferri. The couple shared a life of love and companionship. Charlie is also survived by his sons Christopher Maccaferri and his partner Jill O’Brien, and Douglas Maccaferri and his partner Michele Schultz. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Douglas C.W. Maccaferri and Emilia Rose Maccaferri.
A period of visitation will take place on Monday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
