Embroidery Exhibit and Gallery Talk (Duxbury)

September 10 @ 11:00 am

Our fall exhibit will showcase several 19th century Duxbury samplers, and a few other embroidered pieces.
Guest speaker, Elizabeth Creedon, created the current local epic embroidery project, the Plymouth Tapestry. She will discuss the process of creating a series of 20 panels depicting scenes from  Wampanoag tradition and Western civilization, through the Pilgrims first harvest celebration in 1621.
DRHS Clothing and Textiles Committee members, Toni Orosz and Kris Gaskins will speak about the objects on display and their importance in the lives of females who were taught sewing skills at an early age.
Free and open to the public. No registration required.
