Referring to the “Controversy over a pro-Palestine group” section of Fred Thys’s Town Meeting story in the Plymouth Independent), like Mr. Kusman, I am a Jewish American resident of Plymouth.

However, I found nothing “disgusting” about the Plymouth for Palestine table, so I helped man it, wearing my official “Jews for Peacefire” T-shirt. As for many of us in Plymouth and around the world, Judaism is an ancient and honorable tradition and has nothing to do with the 76-year-old Israeli state.

The article quoted Moderator Triffletti: “I’m not about trying to regulate freedom of speech…I tried to give them alternative ways to express themselves. As a moderator I don’t want to be in a position of deciding what materials are appropriate.”

“It was a poor decision,” Kusman said.

On the contrary, Triffletti’s decision was good, and the materials were appropriate. Plymouth needs at least a fraction of those billions spent abroad here at home, and what better place to get that message across than at Town Meeting?
