Introduction to Native American Art (Plymouth)

We invite you to learn more about Native American Art from around the United States in this new course offering from artist Casey Figueroa, Introduction to Native American Art.  This survey course will introduce Native American Art from around the U.S. Presenting examples in Traditional and Contemporary Art forms, we will examine work in multiple categories, including weaving, beadwork, sculpture, jewelry, and other forms.
Each week in this 1-hour lecture series, we will view works from notable Native artists and discuss the impact and importance of these works from a cultural and historical standpoint.
This class is open to all levels, and anyone wanting to learn more about Native American Art are encouraged to join. Materials recommended are a notebook and a writing utensil for taking notes.
