Bruce Wade Oliver, 70, Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday Oct. 30,at 10:22 a.m., at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and amazing friends.
He was born in Newport, Rhode Island on May 5, 1954, to William H. Oliver and Nancy A. Fijalkowski. Bruce was in the U.S. Navy and his main professions for many years were as a carpenter, musician, and world traveler.
Bruce is survived by his children, April Elias and Bruce Oliver II of Conway, N.H., and Mikulas Javorsky of Plymouth; his siblings, Kevin Oliver and Lisa Lake; his grandchildren, Faith Reid, Ethan Oliver, Ashton Oliver, Hope Elias, Kailey Elias, Brayden Oliver, and Brighton Oliver; and his great grandson, Lincoln Petit. He also had many cousins, as well as one aunt and uncle.
Bruce was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April. He had been in and out of the hospital for multiple reasons before the official diagnosis. He decided to fight the cancer and started chemotherapy without much success. After a brief stay at home on hospice he went to the Pat Roche House for around the clock care. He had many, many kind friends and devoted family who visited him and showered him with much love and affection and who were there with him right until his passing.
Bruce was a man of deep faith and loved the lord above all. He touched the lives of everyone he ever met and had an extremely kind soul. Bruce will never be forgotten and is loved deeply by all. Forever rest in peace and God bless.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St., Plymouth A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 11:30 a.m., at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
