June Aronson

June Aronson, 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Newfield House in Plymouth.

She was the wife of the late David Aronson, and the daughter of the late Anton and Viola (Chapman) Harte. Born in Fall River on Dec. 28, 1935, she attended Northeastern University, where she studied journalism and accounting. June worked for many years at the Providence Journal as a graphic designer. Her passions were flowers and gardening. She worked diligently throughout her life growing and arranging plants and flowers. She was a member and past president of the Plymouth Garden Club, enjoying her time volunteering her talents at Plymouth Public Library in decorating the entranceways and flower beds. For many years she participated in the Boston Flower Show and the Barnstable Fair exhibiting floral arrangements and table settings for which she was awarded several blue ribbons. She also volunteered her talents at the Newfield House where she held classes for the residents in floral arranging and hat decorations.

June participated many years in Plymouth’s Christmas on North Street, decorating rooms in historical homes for holiday tours. She often designed flowers for weddings, and tended to large herb, vegetable, and flower gardens at her home on Bloody Pond in Plymouth.

June had a great love for dogs and had many wonderful ones throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her sister, brother, and nephew. She was a dear friend of her sister-in-law Susan Aronson, Denny Kennedy, and Ted Foster. June was a mother/aunt to her nieces and nephews Paul, for whom she was a legal guardian; Andrew; and Rebecca; and a loving aunt to Hilary, Vanessa, Tyler, and Kirstin.

June will be interred with her husband in her family plot in Johnston, R.I

Denny and Ted invite you to join with them in remembrance of their dear friend June at a memorial visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth, from 11 a.m.  to 12 p.m.
