Maria Frances Hardeman

Maria Frances Hardeman of Stamford, CT, passed away on Dec. 16, surrounded by her loving family at their home in Plymouth. Maria was the cherished daughter of Donna (Costa) and Roger Goguen and James Hardeman all of Plymouth, and sister of Colonel Brian Hardeman and his wife Sheri of Alexandria, VA.

Maria was born in Washington, D.C., on July 2, 1967. She grew up in Plymouth, where she graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School in 1985. She went on to Mount Ida College in Newton, where she earned an associate’s degree in business. For the last 13 years, Maria was a very proud and loyal employee of LinkedIn working out of its office in Manhattan. Since the age of 16, Maria was an avid fan of the band U2 having seen them in concert many times all over the world. Her last concert was at the Sphere in Las Vegas, NV. Another one of her favorite pastimes was cheering on the United Kingdom’s Chelsea Football Club (FC) on TV, and in London at in-person games with her nephew and niece, Brian Jr., and Jessica. She loved to travel, read, spend time with family, and especially loved to watch “The Great British Bake Off” and other British TV shows.

She leaves behind the above loving family, as well as her nephew Brian Hardeman Jr. and his fiancé Laura Timmerman of Dorchester; niece Jessica Hardeman and her partner Leo Thomas Bona-Balibar of Brooklyn, NY; and nephews Zachary and Jacob Hardeman of West Linn, OR.

Maria’s philosophy was: “Life is best lived with family, friends, love, yoga, U2, Chelsea FC, London, and a large “Dunkies” with two equals, extra skim milk, and F cancer!”

In lieu of flowers donations in Maria’s memory may be made to the K.I.N.D Fund (Scholarships for girls), Cranberry Hospice, The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, or the Carroll Center for the Blind of Newton.
