Paula F. (Gallagher) Skellett, 76, of Plymouth, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth on Feb. 12. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. Skellett; loving mother of Brian Skellett and his wife Denise of Brooklyn, Connecticut, Gregory Skellett and his wife Julie Crowley of Middleborough, and the late Richard Skellett. She was the cherished grandmother of Justin, Madison, and Emily Skellett, and Isabella and Hunter Kendrick. She was the sister of Debra Cummings of Holbrook, Paul Gallagher and his wife Jennifer of Taunton, Susan McLaughlin and her husband John of Holbrook, and the late Stephen Gallagher and Karen Fisher-Allen. She was the sister-in-law of Dorothy Williamson of Plymouth. She leaves many nieces and nephews.
Paula was born on Dec. 9, 1948, in Boston to the late Henry and Hazel (McDonald) Gallagher. She was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School. She worked as a client services administrator for logistics until her retirement. She enjoyed painting, and sailing, and was an avid beachgoer. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Manomet and enjoyed many of its activities with her friends. You could find Paula every Saturday night at Monte Christos in Manomet singing to Karaoke. She treasured her time with her large group of friends and was an adoring mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
A period of visitation will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 4 pm to 7 p.m., at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 am at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth. The interment will immediately follow the Mass at Manomet Cemetery, 19 White Horse Road, Plymouth.
