PLYMOUTH – Andon (Donnie) J. Tasselari of Plymouth, formerly from Quincy, passed peacefully at his home in Plymouth on Sunday, March 17, 2024, after a gallant fight with cancer.
Donnie was born in Boston on August 7, 1949, and lived in Quincy before moving to Plymouth 49 years ago. He served as an altar boy for St. George’s Albanian Orthodox Church in South Boston and was proud of his Albanian heritage. He graduated from North Quincy High School, was a proud honorable discharged veteran who served his country in the United States Navy and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He went on to become a master plumber and master gas fitter. He was the president and the co-owner (with his late brother Paul) of Mayflower Plumbing and Heating Inc., of Plymouth for over 40 years, servicing the Plymouth area. He also served as vice president to Bay Colony Master Plumber’s Association for over 30 years, dedicated to the education of master plumbers in the south shore.
He is survived and sorely missed by his loving wife of 49 years Mary K. (Kirchgassner) Tasselari; his brother John Tasselari of Plymouth; and brother-in-law John J. Kirchgassner of Weymouth. Also, he was a loving uncle to nephews Anthony Tasselari of Norton and Matthew Tasselari of Lowell; nephew Michael Hiltz of Marlborough; and niece Melissa Morin of Grafton; as well as loving great nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Helen and Kalam (Harry) Tasselari of Quincy and brother of the late Paul K. Tasselari. Donnie leaves many good friends and relatives, who loved him unconditionally. He was always willing and able to help them with whatever problem they had. He was a kind, extremely loyal and very giving friend, who will be missed by all who knew him. He fought so very hard.
Donnie was a passionate hunter and fisherman. He rarely came home empty handed from any hunting or fishing excursion. He had an impressive game room that proved that claim. He loved the outdoors, the ocean and Plymouth beach. He was a member of the Plymouth VFW Post #40 and a senior lifetime member of the Plymouth Rod and Gun Club.
Visiting hours are Saturday, March 23, 2024. from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service at noon at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 373 Court St., North Plymouth. Burial will be immediately following at the Vine Hill Cemetery 102 Samoset St.
Donnie touched many lives and will be greatly missed. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Donnie’s name to: American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
