Ella “Lorraine” Zaniboni, 89, of Plymouth, died Monday, July 1, at home with family. She was the wife of the late Richard Zaniboni, and the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Brown) Knight. Born on May 20, 1935, Lorraine worked in nursing in the Plymouth area, as well as for the Solo company, Colonial Candle, and PartyLite. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and braided rugs for her family home. She had a great fondness for travel and cruising. She camped all over New England with her family and later visited Alaska, Europe, and Las Vegas with friends. At 70 years old, Lorraine tried white water rafting. She loved to organize group trips to the casinos at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. She kept a beautiful garden in her yard and a goldfish pond for everyone to enjoy.
She is survived by her children, Dwight ‘Kirk’ Strawn and his wife Elaine of New Bedford, Flora McDonough of Plymouth, Christopher Zaniboni of Plymouth, Charles J. Zaniboni and his wife Catherine of Plymouth; her daughter-in-law, Tina Zaniboni of Plymouth; her siblings, Jan Knight of Taunton, Marilyn Romboldi and her husband Richard of Plymouth, and Roberta Prince and her husband Jack of Plymouth.
She was blessed with 12 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Alan R. Zaniboni, Edward L. Zaniboni, and sister to the late Earl Knight Jr and Mary Phyllis Wager.
Visitation with the Zaniboni family will be held in the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth, on Tuesday, July 16, from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
