Hydrangea Winter Protection Strategies Workshop (Sandwich)
November 2 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
We all love our Hydrangea macrophylla plants, but they are the least cold-hardy species and often bloom poorly following a harsh Cape Cod winter. Heritage’s Curator of Hydrangeas Mal Condon will provide information and demonstrate winter protection techniques to help your plants better endure the tough winters. The step-by-step procedures will be demonstrated, the tools and materials displayed, and their sources shared. Lots of useful winter protection components have become available over the last couple of years, and Mal is always evaluating these better products and is eager to share his newest techniques and developments.
This small group workshop will take place rain or shine in the Heald Center located in the J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery. In good weather, some of the demonstrations will take place outdoors in the gardens. There will be plenty of time for ongoing questions and discussion, and following the program participants will receive a PDF file via email containing presentation content for your reference.
Advance registration is required as spaces are limited, and we expect this popular program to sell out. Register Here.
