No Place For Hate: Discussion Series (Plymouth)

October 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us in the Fehlow Room for No Place for Hate’s Discussion Series event with Peter Gottschalk, Professor of Religion at Wesleyan University. This discussion is titled, “Unacceptable: Themes of Religious Intolerance in American History.” This event will explore the history of nativism and religious intolerance in American society with Peter Gottschalk, author of American Heretics: Catholics, Jews, Muslims and the History of Religious Intolerance. Ranging from the experience of early Irish Catholic immigrants to today’s persistent threats of Antisemitism and Islamophobia, Professor Gottschalk will discuss common threads of bigotry and religious hatred that have prevailed in American society and the community responses that remind us of our resilience and ability to stand together against hate. Adults.
