Statewide Volunteer Day 2024 (Marshfield)
April 27 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Spend your morning working with sanctuary staff at North River Wildlife Sanctuary cleaning up the trails and resurfacing our All Persons Trail. Learn about the invasive plant species that currently inhabit the sanctuary, why they are detrimental to the ecosystem, and how to identify them. This volunteer opportunity will be held outdoors using various hand tools, so please wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and sleeves, and bring your work gloves. This work is suitable for older children and adults (please note that any volunteer 16 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian) and is fully accessible!
This volunteer opportunity will include one or more projects that are accessible and inclusive to volunteers with a broad range of abilities. For more detailed information on these projects, or to discuss any accommodations that would be helpful, please contact southeast@massaudubon.org.
Before getting to work, start the day with a hot cup of coffee and breakfast as you take in the beauty of nature, get to know other volunteers, and learn about the importance of the work that you will be doing.
After your work for the morning is done, enjoy free admission to the sanctuary for the remainder of the day and hit the trails. If you would like to explore our visitor center after your volunteer work, join our education staff in learning about the importance of habitat restoration and management and how you can help by volunteering your time for our ecological management projects, like our Osprey Monitoring Program.
