Strawberry Thanksgiving (Plymouth)
June 22 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Looking for some summer time fun, while still keeping your kids engaged in learning outside of the classroom? Come and join the Historic Patuxet Homesite Staff to celebrate Strawberry Thanksgiving!
This annual event will feature programming and educational activities across the Museum for guests of all ages to enjoy, including a special performance by the Standing Quiver Singers from Mashpee, MA.
Since time immemorial the Wampanoag and other Eastern Woodland communities have marked the beginning of summer with the ripening of strawberries, the first berry of the season. Known as a “heart berry”, communities would gather together on the full moon to harvest and celebrate this gift from the Creator with feasting, games, songs, and dance!
Access to all Strawberry Thanksgiving events are included with admission to Plimoth Patuxet.
