The Native American Artifacts from the Alden First Site: A Reanalysis (Duxbury)
October 2 @ 7:00 pm
Join archaeologist Dan Zoto for an overview of a recent project to reanalyze the nearly 2,000 Native American artifacts from Roland Robbins’ 1960 excavation of John and Priscilla’s 17th-century homesite. The collection demonstrates an Indigenous occupation at the homesite dating back some 8,000 years. Dan will explain how the artifacts were identified and dated, and what they tell us about Native life in Duxbury before and after European contact.
This talk will be held in person at the Duxbury Free Library, 77 Alden Street, and broadcast online via Zoom. Registration is required to attend online Here.
This talk is sponsored by the Duxbury Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
