Visual Inverse – Words and Images in Conversation (Plymouth)

VISUAL INVERSE 2024, organized in collaboration with Poetry the Art of Words, pairs artists and poets in an ekphrastic event. This year, twenty-two poets will respond to twenty-two pieces included in the 57th Annual Juried Art Show. A reading and reception for the event will be held on Sunday, October 13th at 1:30pm. Suggested Donation: $10
Ekphrasis as a kind of artistic ‘call and response’ in which one art form speaks to another; a tradition as old as Homer’s epic, The Iliad, in which he devotes verse after verse to the images hammered into Achilles’ shield.
