Cheryl A. Monahan

Cheryl A. Monahan, 68, of Plymouth, passed away on Friday, March 28th, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was the loving mother of Glenn Monahan and his fiancée, Nicole Fitzpatrick, of Plymouth, and the late Melissa Guiducci. She was the cherished grandmother of Jessica, Tori, Johnny, Stephen, Lauren, Austin, Tatum, and Kaleob, and the beloved great-grandmother of Audrey, Bodhi, Bella, and Isaiah. She was also the dear sister of Barbara, Cindy, and Donna.

Born in Quincy on March 14, 1957, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Francis and Barbara Hutchinson. She grew up in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School. In 1991, she moved her family to Plymouth, where she began a dedicated career as a CNA, working with Life Care Center and Reach.

Cheryl had a deep love for the beach, especially Sagamore Beach, and found joy in gardening. She was always busy – whether working at Home Depot, advocating for those with Lyme disease, or raising three generations of her family. She was the epitome of a matriarch, a guiding force for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who looked up to her as a saint. Cheryl devoted herself to teaching them the important lessons of life, ensuring they were always cared for and supported.

Her unwavering strength, love, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A service will be held at the Second Church of Plymouth, 518 State Road, Plymouth, on Tuesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at the John Alden Club from 2 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cheryl’s memory may be made towards services using the tribute fund button provided in the obituary here.
