Frederick Casinelli

Frederick (Federico) Casinelli of Norwell, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on March 8, 1953, in Arpino, Italy. He came to America with his family in 1966. He is the son of the late Francesco and Carolina Casinelli. They settled in Newtonville. He began working in a grocery store at the age of 14, starting his career in the food business. He worked very hard, acknowledging that the key to success was building relationships. He lived the American Dream. He began at Sysco Foods as a produce clerk and worked his way up to president of Sysco Boston. He encouraged and helped many throughout his career. He was humble and would never tell anyone when he helped someone who was struggling.

He opened Leena’s Kitchen, Salt Restaurant, and acquired the Pillory Pub with partners Daniel Casinelli and Johnny Sheehan. He began a new venture, Land and Sea Provisions with Alex Sepulveda in 2021.

He graduated from Boston State College and served in the Navy Reserves while in college. He earned his pilot license at the Weymouth Navy Base. Flying was his passion!

He is the beloved husband of 48 years to Patricia. They moved to Plymouth, Ma in 1976 where they started their family. He leaves behind his son, David Casinelli, and his wife Brittany of New Hampshire; his daughter Lisa Marsh and her husband Steven Marsh of Norwell; his son Daniel Casinelli of Plymouth. He also leaves behind his 6 precious granddaughters: Corinna, 22; Mia, 16; Ella, 14; Molly, 14; Taylor, 11; and Ava, 10.

In addition, he is survived by his brother Arthur Casinelli and his wife Mary of Walpole; his sister-in-law Sara McFarland and her husband Richard of Florida; his sister-in-law Rita Hathaway and her husband and Fred’s best friend George of Murrysville, PA; his sister-in-law Maureen Mullins and her husband Christopher of Plymouth, MA. In addition, he was the brother-in-law of the late Catherine Schaffer and her late husband, Michael. He also leaves behind his uncle Cleto Venditti and cousins Mario Venditti and Maria Davis and her husband John, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

He will be missed dearly.

A visitation will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St ., North Plymouth, on Wednesday, March 20, from 4 to 7. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St Peter’s Church in Plymouth 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 21.
