Last year I was in the Harbor Freight store in Wareham that used to be a Benny’s. There were about five guys checking out and waiting to check out – mostly guys like me, 60s maybe, gray hair, blue jeans, work shirts.  “You know, I like this place, but I sure do miss Benny’s,” I said out loud to no one in particular.  All the other customers enthusiastically agreed with me.

Benny’s was the only place I knew where I could get wicks and glass chimneys for oil and kerosene lamps.
