My husband and I downsized to Plymouth four years ago from Andover where we lived for 34 years.

Andover had a rather strong weekly, the Townsman and a regional daily, the Eagle Tribune, owned for years and years by a local family. The point of this is they were bought out by a conglomerate, perhaps, and has the quality gone down. The Andover weekly used to cover the town and schools, debt exclusion overrides and the like, and local races. No more. Town officials operate now in the dark.

So I was glad to see the Plymouth Independent. Transparency is important. Journalism is such an essential part of that.

Keep up the good work.
