Katie DeAngelo, 41, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on Sunday, April 13, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved daughter of John and Patti (Holland) DeAngelo, Katie was the loving sister of Jacki Holcomb and her husband Matt, and Krista Abarr and her husband Joe. She was a cherished granddaughter of Mary DeAngelo and a devoted Auntie to Emily, Ben, James, and Henry. Katie is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends she loved like family.
Born in Boston and raised in Plymouth, Katie attended Plymouth North High School and Stonehill College. She was a dedicated employee of NGS for 23 years and loved her work family. A gifted poet and writer, she recently completed courses at Pendulum Ink where she was named Rhymecologist of the Year 2025.
Katie had a style that was truly her own. Music was her passion and she could often be seen playing piano or guitar at home, singing in church or at karaoke with friends. Her joy was contagious and she touched the lives of many through her kindness and authenticity. Her faith was important to her and she felt blessed to be part of the Cursillo community.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and ICU staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in both Plymouth and Boston for their exceptional care and support over the past few weeks.
A visitation will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 126 South Meadow Road, Plymouth, on Monday, April 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place the next day in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Plymouth.
