Michael P. Sears, 43, of Plymouth, passed away on Saturday, June 8, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth. He was the loving father of Collin M. Sears of Plymouth; brother of Leslie A. Sears of Plymouth; significant other of Kim M. Barrasso of Plymouth; and grandson of Joan Miller Olsen of Whitman and Weymouth. He is also survived many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his close friends over the years.
He was born in Weymouth on December 30, 1980, son of Paul F. Sears and Cheryl L. Olsen-Corwin and her husband, Dr. Lee Corwin. Mike grew up in Plymouth and was a graduate of Plymouth North High School, Class of 1999, and MMI in Orlando FL. He made his career as motorcycle mechanic until he was tragically disabled from ARVC/D in 2009.
Mike lived for dirt bike racing; he competed in the NETRA Hare Scramble. Before becoming unable to participate, he loved boating, fishing, and skiing. Collin and his Dad enjoyed attending the games for their favorite Boston sports teams. Mike will be sorely missed by his family and friends. A visitation will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth, on Monday, June 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by a service in the funeral home at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mike’s memory may be made to Johns Hopkins ARVC/D.
