Precinct 17 chair Joe Hutchinson has proposed stopping all Charter Review Committee proposed changes with one motion. I will not be supporting that motion at Saturday’s Town Meeting. This would be disrespectful to those that have served on the committee for over one year and that have conducted over 30 public meetings. Mr. Hutchinson serves on that committee. Let the work of the Charter Review Committee work and proposals see the light of day of the open debate Saturday. Many amendments are being proposed by various citizens as well. I will be a “no” on Mr. Hutchinson’s motion. He will be speaking this Thursday (Oct. 17) at 7 p.m. at the Committee of Precinct Chairs meeting. If you are truly trying to support town meeting form of government then let this form of government have its day on these matters.
