Nancy B. Selvaggi, 83, of Plymouth, formerly of Brooklyn N.Y., Tewksbury N.J., and Boston, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of Anthony J. Selvaggi; loving mother of Joseph Selvaggi and his wife Pauline of Boston, Laura Keating and her husband Gerard of Boston, and Mark Selvaggi and his wife Jessica of Scituate; grandmother of Matthew B. Keating, Luke G. Keating, Ella R. Selvaggi, and AJ Selvaggi; sister of Carol Kuhlke and her late husband Bill of Houston TX, and the late Marion DuPont and her late husband Donald.
Born in Brooklyn on Aug. 21, 1941, daughter of the late Stephen and Caroline (Ehmann) McDonald. Nancy grew up in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Johnson Regional High School. She met her husband in 1962 at the Oak Tree Lounge and the two were married on October 26, 1963. She and Anthony raised their loving family in Tewksbury, N.J.
Nancy had a true entrepreneurial spirit. She began a chain of children’s painting and birthday party stores called “Plaster Fun Time” with her three children in 1995 and grew the business to nine locations. They later opening more locations in Massachusetts after moving to Boston in 1998.
Upon retirement in 2014, Anthony and Nancy made their home in the Pinehills in Plymouth. She loved being around people and getting involved in her community. Nancy was a master bridge player who played multiple times per week and enjoyed musical theater and reading. She was active with the Church of the Pilgrimage in Plymouth. But nothing came second to Nancy’s grandchildren. They were her “pride and joy times 10.”
A visitation will be held at the Cartmell Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth, on Friday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It will be followed by a service in the funeral home at noon. A private burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, New England Chapter.
