Patricia A. Ryan

Patricia A. Ryan, 88, of Plymouth, died Sunday, April 28, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John J. Ryan Jr., and the daughter of the late John and Anna (McGlinchy) Murphy. Born in Dorchester on March 4, 1936, she was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She was the owner and operator of a car rental agency in Hanover for many years.

Patricia and John made their home in Quincy and Hanover before moving to Manomet for the last 20 years. Patricia spent her life caring for others, whether it was planning the holidays, or cooking and feeding people. She put all others first and taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was her joy.

In addition to her devoted husband, Patricia is survived by her children, John Ryan III and his wife Pamela of Hanover, Richard Ryan of Quincy, Tricia Spooner and her husband Gregg of Manomet, James Ryan and his late wife Suzanne of Plymouth, and Theresa Wolff and her husband Steven of Carver; her grandchildren Danielle Riley, Timothy, Adam and Kristina Ryan, Jaclyn Gray, John Carroll, Gregg and Chett Spooner, Kallee McCullough, Matthew Ryan, Erin Wilkinson, Steven Wolff ll, John and Anthony Wolff; great grandchildren Nathan and Ella Riley, Madelyn, Ava, Kayla, Alivvia, Emma, Lyla and Arriana Ryan, Ender Vison, Mikayla Gray, Gregg Spooner III, Jack Spooner, Kade McCullough, Jonah, Asher and Joshua Ryan. She was the sister of Jane McSweeney of Dedham, and the late John Murphy, Mary Grant, Anna Allen and Claire White.

A funeral mass for Patricia was held on Friday, May 10, at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Plymouth. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
