It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Richard G. Kent, 78, a much-loved husband, best friend, father, and grandfather. Richie was born on Oct. 27, 1946, to Claire E (Todd) Kent and G. Gordon Kent and passed peacefully at home on March 21. He graduated from Somerville High School and Burdett College and was an Army veteran. He enjoyed many summers in Monponsett. He worked for and retired from the New England Telephone Company and its many name changes, ending with Verizon.
Rich was a member of the Plymouth Lions, the Plymouth Yacht Club, and the Sandwich croquet club. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Allen (Alski). He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan, his sons Brian and wife Jessica of Bridgewater, Kevin and wife Kelley of Plymouth, and sister-in-law Beverly Boccella and husband Paul, of Plymouth. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Lucas, Jase, Jameson, Joshua, and Allison. Family and friends were the most important thing to Rich.
