Rita Marinella

Rita C. Marinella, age 91, of Manomet, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Marinella and the daughter of Clement and Madeline Baron. She was born in Burlington, Vermont, on July 3, 1932.  She lived most her life in Manomet with her husband raising their children and working.

In her earlier years she worked for the Sylvania and the Cordage rope factory. Then on to working locally such as the Surry Shop, Yankee Traveler, Lord Alden, Rogers Market and the Village General Store, where everyone loved Rita. She was always a happy soul, wearing a smile, and willing to lend a helping hand.

She enjoyed traveling – her favorite destination was Hawaii. Also, you couldn’t keep her down as she’d be sewing, crafting, wallpapering, dancing, and cooking.

She will be very much missed by her family and friends.

Rita greatly cherished her grandchildren Katie and Colleen O’Connor, Ryan and Megan Gallivan, and Sean McClellan. She was the grandmother of the late Michael Gallivan, and Devin McClellan. She also leaves behind her six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth, on Friday, Jan. 19, from 4 – 7 pm. Following a short prayer service on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home, interment will be in the Manomet Cemetery.
