Sandra Jean (Elliott) Swift

Sandra Jean (Elliott) Swift passed away peacefully March 26 with her love and 13-year partner Wes Ennis by her side at their Plymouth home following a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. Her loving nature, sense of humor, and creative talent are memorable hallmarks for all who knew her.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her sons Andrew and Owen Swift of Quincy. Sandy is also survived by her parents, Bryan J. Elliot and Karen Ann (Brooks) Elliott of Prescott, AZ; her sisters Laurie Jakobs, husband, John of Phoenix, AZ; and children Sean and Kyle, Linda Victor, husband Alan of Phoenix, AZ; and children Gavin and Carly, Tracy Lujan, of Dallas, TX, and her children Alexandra and Devin.

Sandy will also be missed by members of the Ennis family, including Clif Ennis, wife Denise of Attleboro, and children Reid and Patrick, Jackie (Ennis) Matthews of Alliston, Ontario, and children Richard and “Casey” Wilana, Zakk Ennis, wife Emily of Easton, and their children dear to Sandy, Kaliegh and Calvin.

She is also missed by closest friends Dawn Bono, of Plymouth, Eileen Kane of Kingston – with whom she vacationed and who organized a fundraising event for Sandy – and Steve and Anne Franzino of Plymouth.

Growing up in Arizona and later California, Sandy earned a BA in English at Cal State, Fullerton, and taught third grade in Garden Grove, CA. She later relocated to the South Shore to marry James Swift.

She began working part-time as a retail clerk for several grocery stores while a full-time mother. She was a creative woman as an avid photographer, two-dimensional artist drawing illustrations, creating acrylic paintings, and as a musician. She worked wo years with her partner at wesennisfilms, assisting with on-location filming, animation, voiceovers, and music composition and piano performances for background music for corporate commercial projects.

She loved the walking beaches: Egypt in Scituate, Long Beach in Plymouth (and ‘Sandy’s), and Brown’s Bank, collecting sea glass and taking photos. Sandy enjoyed sunrises, all music, and playing more than 25,000 backgammon games with Wes. She was an incredible dancer anytime, anyplace the music moved her.

A visitation will be held at Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home at 373 Court St., Plymouth, on Monday, April 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy’s memory may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, NY.  A Celebration of Life will take place in warmer weather, with the date and time to be determined.
