Reading the recent article about [former Select Board member Harry] Helm made me want to write to the Plymouth Independent regarding the lack of voter turnout in the recent election. I recently moved here from California and have always voted absentee and volunteered to “work” the election for many years. Whenever a candidate was up for election, the ballots that were sent out for voting would enclose a brochure with the candidates’ names, the positions they were running for, and their thoughts on what they would do in the position if elected. If something like this were enclosed with the ballots it would make it much easier to know the candidates’ positions, and I believe would result in a higher voter turnout.
