Wayne Allen Botelho, 76, of Plymouth passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 6, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen Ann (Habel) Botelho. Born in Plymouth on July 14th, 1948, Wayne was the beloved son of the late John and Esther (Silva) Botelho. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School.

Wayne worked for the Laborers Union Local #721 and worked on the Colony Place development, as well as many others. He was known as an entrepreneur with diverse interests. Wayne had a vivacious sense of humor and loved people. He enjoyed countless trips to Foxwoods and loved betting on the craps tables. He was an avid traveler who traveled from South America to the family roots in Sao Miquel, Portugal. He was an avid cruiser, traveling on over 30-plus cruises. He loved riding his many motorcycles, never missing his annual trip to Laconia, NH.

But without a doubt, the most important thing in his life was receiving the gift of life when his beloved Kathy gave birth to his son Brandon Wayne Botelho. “Wayne’s boy” is and forever will be the best thing that ever happened to him in his life.

Besides leaving his son Brandon, he was predeceased by his son Brett Rougeau.

Wayne was the loving brother of Jane Halle, Brenda Robidoux, Lorraine Ferreira, Terri Botelho (and her companion Paul Costa), and John Botelho, all of Plymouth. He was grandfather of Breanna Rougeau, Joshua Rougeau, Zachary Rougeau, and Michael Rougeau., He also leaves his great-granddaughter Avianna and great-grandson Elijah. He was the cherished companion of Robin Ricardo-Vivona, who loved him unconditionally both many years ago as well as in recent years. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. His bold presence will be deeply missed by the countless friends he made throughout his lifetime.

Visiting hours will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth, on Monday, Aug. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court St, Plymouth, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Plymouth.
